EDI-Communication with i-effect®
For communication of EDI messages, i-effect® supports a variety of protocols with different communication modules. The choice of a particular communication protocol depends greatly on you and your partners from or of the relevant industry standards.
The term EDI is often associated with the related conversion tasks. The converter is intended to convert files from one format into the other. In addition to the conversion tasks, the EDI-System also should handle the receiving and sending of EDI messages in the sense of a complete workflow automation.
For a secure and standardized messaging to IBM Power System and IBM i i-effect® offers the following modules:
EDI via AS2. Secure Data Exchange over Internet (IETF).
Development of AS2 standards.
Send and receive e-mails directly with IBM i.
Send and receive of fax messages.
Send and receive large data volumes with FTP. (SFTP and FTPS with *CRYPT).
Standard protocol for web communication. Transmission with SSL (HTTPS).
Sending and receiving with OFTP via ISDN X.25 or TCP/IP.
Development of OFTP.
